I am already wearing things with my future monogram…..
I got called out by several people this weekend for carrying my married monogram clutch.
I just can’t help it.
I am obsessed with this monogrammed stationary
It takes the monogram to a whole new level – its on the front, its made into a pattern on the back, and even the envelope is adorable.
I had my hair and makeup trial quite some time ago,
but the make-up was just noootttttt so great.
it was bad…. very bad.
I have a unibrow some big ass eyebrows…. they do not need to be filled in. that’s when I knew we had reached the point of no return. It’s always so awkward to stare at yourself in the mirror while the make-up lady watches you and you have to act like its totally not that bad and just needs to be tweaked a bit, but in reality you are thinking WHO THE HELL IS THAT????
I don’t wear much skin make-up in general – BB cream mixed with face lotion – and then my summer bronzer year round to cover up the pale – so the caking on of the foundation just didn’t do it for me (despite how many times I said as light as possible so that it doesn’t look like anything is there). I ended up going to Sephora to have someone try out concealers on me because I wanted to see if I hated all concealer or if it was just the way it was done originally.
She did an amazing job. Phew.
All she put on was a primer, foundation, and some under eye concealer and I was one happy lady. That damn beauty blender is amazing.
I look like a crazy insane person in this picture,
I assure you it was below zero outside and I needed to be dressed like this.
but who the hell cares because damnnn my skin looked good.
I want to put the sephora lady in my pocket and take her home with me!

primer // foundation // concealer // beauty blender
spending money on make-up was sheer torture for me…. only dresses deserve a splurge in my eyes.
I understand that I should wear more make-up than I do at work “for it to look right in pictures”, but I do not care if my face looks normal in pictures, I want it to look normal IN PERSON when people are actual looking at me. I mean…..by that thought, does that mean my face has never looked normal in any photos prior because I didn’t have caked on make-up?
I’ll shut up now.
Enough babbling,
please see 11 gifs of makeup counter dilemmas for the summary.
I ordered this nightshirt in white to get ready in on the big day.
I wasn’t crazy about the only monogram option that they offered, so I’m taking it on my own to a store to get it monogrammed.
The invitations go out this week or next week, and I cannot wait to open the mailbox and see the entire thing with the calligraphy.
I’m going to rip that thing open!
No…. let’s be honest…. I’ll carefully open it ever so slowly and be so sad if the rain smeared something as if an envelope actually matters.
crazy bride inner thoughts: but it does matter…..
I can’t decide if these instagram signs would be cute, maybe just framed in the bathrooms on the counter or something…. but I think they are going to need to happen.
And come to think of it, we need to think of a wedding hashtag!
HAHA I LOVE this post. Just having finished the wedding, I can relate to all of these things (except, it was my hair trial that screwed up rather than my makeup, LOL). And I totally ordered return address labels that said "Samantha Paterson" rather than Samantha Penner about 6 months early, haha!
hahaha I can totally relate! At my first makeup trial I literally had on SO MUCH makeup that when I got home I'm pretty sure my fiance did not even know who walked in the door. I looked certifiably insane. Hoping to have better luck at my next trial in a few weeks 🙂 Your big day is so soon, you will be beautiful Tay!
I used both the Make-up forever products on my wedding day and the makeup really did stay!! My hair trial was a disaster and honestly even the day of I was that happy with how it turned out – but it didn't matter! Really wish we would have done a hashtag for the wedding, but didn't even think about it!! I think it would look cute maybe just not with the bright instagram colors…match it to your wedding colors!
Such a great idea to go to Sephora to get their intel! Going to do that this weekend 🙂
I'm ALL for a wedding hashtags and am going to put a similar note in our Welcome Bags for guests and love the idea of putting one in the bathrooms
It felt SO GOOD to get our invites out!!! Good luck with it!
I would expect nothing less from you than using your new monogram a couple months early. I had AKS pillows on my bed within a week of getting engaged. Shhhhh…. Also we need to start brainstorming a hashtag! I think the little insta sign is adorable!
I used the same foundation for my wedding! Great stuff. I didn't use their brand of primer, I used Hourglass, but primer is a must. Also, there's a spray at Sephora, I think it's Urban Decay, but it a makeup setting spray. I would TOTALLY get some- it won't move! Mine didn't, and we had an outside wedding and it was almost 80 degrees.
BLoved Boston's advice on matching the instagram symbol colors to your colors is a great idea!
Finally, I totally framed a wedding invitation. I spent waaay to much money on calligraphy, invites, a vintage stamps to ignore it. I absolutely love seeing it every day (it's hanging in our bedroom).
My first makeup trial SUCKED. She only spent 20 minutes with me 🙁 So happy it was just a trial as I hired someone else and adored how she did my makeup!
So glad you liked the Beauty Blender. I have heard really good things about it and am thinking about buying it to make my foundation look more normal. I too have crazy pale skin and usually just stick with BB but have not been happy lately. That stationery is so cute! I don't blame you for using it a couple months early. Hell, I got my gmail account with my married name before we got engaged (I did however, wait to use it until after we got married because people would totally call me out on it 😉 Finally, I LOVE that nightshirt. I have the separate pjs and now want the nightshirt. JCrew is so dangerous.

Love that you're carrying your new monogram things, already, ha! True story..I actually stopped buying anything monogrammed during the last year–I don't want to waste money on a monogram that *hopefully* will be invalid in the not so distant future!
OMG reading this is like peaking in my own mind – crazy bride drama about little things CONSUME me. I don't have anxiety, and neither do you – but it's those crazy little details! Can't wait to see the invite and your suggested bridesmaid gifts! XOXO
