we have unofficially-officially made the move to our new home.
we still have our apartment with some last minute things to clean out this next week,
but we are slowly settling in to the new abode.
I came home Saturday night from one of my best friends weddings at
2 am to see a strange home awkwardly filled with our furniture.
It was strange. But fun.
But here’s the thing.
This new place……it’s a condo, but it has more of the layout of a townhouse, meaning it has STAIRS.
You non city folk won’t understand this….. but I never realized I had become unprepared for stairs. And I’ve only lived here for 2 days.
It has a main floor with the kitchen and living room, and then downstairs has another living space and laundry with the patio, and upstairs on the second floor are the two bedrooms.
Sooooo its 3 stories. 2 sets of stairs.
I had been so excited for multiple levels and stairs. “STAIRS!!!!! YAY!!!” I thought.
I was wrong.
I have never realized I was a spoiled brat for only having to walk two feet to my bedroom for the last 5 years to get whatever I needed.
In a span of one hour, I go up and down and up and down and then UP and UP when going from the bottom floor.
I AM EXHAUSTED.
Tell me non-city people who have homes and not condos/rich folk who have homes in Chicago/suburban people/normal people who are used to stairs…….. how do I navigate this stair thing??
Because I’m the kind of person that walks into a room, has no idea why I walked in there, walks back to the kitchen, remembers, walks back to the room, gets distracted by some other shiny object, goes back to the kitchen, realizes I never got what I needed …….
it’s a vicious cycle.
and the only solution I can think of is this :
I better have the ass of a supermodel by next week for how many stairs Im climbing.
seriously who makes these meme’s + gifs because I need to be their best friend.
Here are some pics from the previous owners when the place was listed….. I’ll share updates
as they come.

downstairs
they left the leather couch and flat screen downstairs ….. kip and I have each been trying to claim it as our space.

NICE! I actually went from city row house living to one floor apartment living! Our place in Baltimore was only 11 feet wide but we had 3 stories, a basement and a rooftop deck. Those 100 year old stairs get tricky after a couple glasses on the roof! But our bedroom on the top floor really became a haven since we didn't hang out in there, and I didn't feel the need to make my bed everyday since I almost never saw it! I don't miss lugging my laundry up three flights though!
Such a beautiful new space!! I can't imagine having stairs again – so use to living on one level!! But that is the dream for sure! haha
Your new place is gorgeous! I can't believe y'all just moved in – it took forever for me to get all of our furniture situated the way I wanted!
I know what you mean about the stair situation – our condo is on one level and the upside to having a tiiiny home on one floor is that everything is so close!
What a gorgeous place!!! This made me laugh because we're now in a townhouse after being in an apartment and my husband is also having a hard time with all the stairs 😉 He's declared our next place has to be a ranch style house, ha!
you had that stair situation on lill!! miz. your booty will be lookin foiin. i cant wait to seeeee!
