After Florence,
our next stop was Positano.
Positano was a complete and utter dream, and perhaps our favorite of the entire trip.
(I think it definitely was).
I want to give Positano posts the justice they deserve, and they aren’t ready yet, but I know that so many of you are currently planning trips so I at least wanted to share where we stayed.
Because we LOVED it. LOVED LOVED.
I had the highest of expectations and Hotel Miramare and the manager there, Rosita, far surpassed them.
Here are a few pictures of the hotel and a crappy video from my cell phone of our room 🙂
from the port/main beach in Positano, the hotel is up on the left side, about 200 steps up.
it is the red building you see on the left.
I made super cute graphics that are better than our pictures from our boat day to highlight where it is 😀
you are welcome.
one of the most beautiful rooms from the hotel was the breakfast room.
and the breakfast was delicious!
we were lucky enough to be booked in one of the two new rooms in a separate entrance just to the right of the hotel entrance up a few steps.
{ according to my notes, we were in room 221! }
they are brand new, so spacious, and the most beautiful views and balcony.
The balcony was so big with two lounge chairs and also table and chairs if you wanted to eat out there.
I could go on and on.
We spent so much time just sitting on the balcony, day or night.
I figured out how to upload a youtube video of our room when it wouldn’t upload directly to the blog 🙂 I mean, I’m impressed with myself.
It’s shaky and not the best, and doesn’t do the size or brightness or beauty of the room justice,
but it gives you an idea.
also, this instagram that I posted shows a good view of the balcony.
SO, I’ll share more about Positano (and then Rome)
but I wanted to let you know how much we loved our hotel
and would recommend it to anyone.
We are DREAMING of when we can go back.
I’m near tears (not really…. but really…. but no… seriously yes) just with this part of the post which is why writing the rest is taking forever…. I miss it so much!
I am too lazy to back, but wanted to know if you went to Tuscany? And how much work was it to plan a trip like this?! The planning gives me major anxiety….to the point where I don't think I could do it.
Hi! We did – we stayed in Siena for 2 nights and did an all day wine tour throughout the Chianti region.

This trip was a lot of planning on my part, but it was fun because I like to plan. You learn so much and get so excited during the planning process if you ask me. However, lots of friends just use a travel agent. Pinterest and blogs alone can narrow down a lot of options for you, otherwise you can do what my friends have done and use a travel agent as your expert!

Hi! How many days/nights did you spend in Positano? Planning a trip to the Amalfi coast and wondering how much to carve out. Thinking we'll stay in Positano for 3 or 4 nights but do day trips to Capri and Ravello?
Hi Madeline! I really need to get my full Positano post done!! I would recommend 4 – we loved it so so much. It's so nice to have a beach town relaxing part of the busy trip, and yes, especially with day trips I think you'll be happy to have that many days there. We did a boat day to Capri which we loved, the actual town of Capri wasnt our favorite – the day on the boat was amazing though. Ravello is much less touristy and so beautiful so if you have heard good things too I would recommend a full boat day, but may be to Ravello instead! Hope this h elps…. and hopefully I'll get my $h*t together and finish my Positano recommendations and post them 🙂 Happy planning – you'll love it!
That's exactly what I wanted to hear!!! Thanks, and I'll be waiting on it 🙂
I'm just the same – I tear up just thinking about Positano – there's just nowhere else like it in the world and it's the only place I could happily go back to year after year for the rest of my life. I hope if I have kids that they'll all get married there! haha. Wonderful post. I've written about my favourite spots here: http://www.tripchow.com/your-guide-to-positano/
Hi! I found your blog a few months back when searching for Italy recommendations and have stuck around as a reader! We are going on almost the same trip as y'all minus Siena in June so I was so excited when I found your detailed recaps! Thank you for these–they have been a huge help in trying to narrow down plans! I am starting to pick back up into planning and researching but was wondering if you ever did a Rome recap? I would love to hear your recommendations for Rome since there are SO many options of what to do, where to eat, and where to stay. Any quick tips you could send my way would be SO appreciated!
Hi Kelsey !! I still need to do Rome ! SO sorry 🙁 Hopefully I can get it up and going otherwise I can email you my notes – Rome was SO overwhelming we got so many tips from friends and barely made it through 1/10 of my list!!
Thanks for the response! I feel that way just researching…so many options and so many different opinions on how long you need there. I would love your notes if you don't mind and if it's not a lot of trouble!
Hey Kelsey – I can't get your e-mail for some reason. Can you e-mail me at taylor.oshay@gmail.com, I just copied my Rome info into an email for you!
Now for the best part…so where do you want to go? Travel nursing jobs are everywhere, both here in the US and overseas! Have you dreamed of a life down under in Australia?
