I hope you all had a great weekend! I spent the weekend watching my one year old nephew while my brother was in town for a wedding. We had a lot of fun together and he was such an angel; he truly could not have been better and slept like a dream. My older niece and nephew loved having a baby to play with for the weekend, too. My husband was away all weekend in Scottsdale for a guys golf weekend and gets home late tonight so I’m excited for him to be back!
I’m enjoying a night back in my own bed tonight as I write this and am going to close the laptop early and read through the new cookbook that I got. I liked Kristin Cavallari’s first book Balancing in Heels and make her Almond Butter Cookies all the time, so I’m hoping that I find recipes that I like in True Roots too. (I really hate having to buy tons of unusual or difficult to find ingredients – so hopefully not much of that!)
I’m hoping to make a new recipe from the cookbook by at least next weekend!
I wanted to share a great casual top that is so cozy for daytime and weekends. I love that the back is slightly longer than the front, and you can adjust the tie as needed. It comes in a pretty blush and yellow as well. It runs a little bit big, I would suggest sizing down. I am wearing an XS.

I hope you all have a great start to the week!
I want to buy True Roots too. I love watching her stories and seeing her cooking from her cookbook with her kids, it’s just too cute! I can’t wait to hear your opinion of the book and see a recipe or two!

Her recipes all seem to have ingredients I have to make special trips for which is a bit of a let down so far – but I’ll find something and share what I make!
I purchased her cookbook, too! The recipes look tasty but some require some “bougy” ingredients. My fave right now is Laura Lea Balanced – literally every recipe i have tried of hers (both in the cookbook and her blog) are so good. The ingredients are really approachable and most likely something you already have on hand.
Yes! I was so disappointed reading it last – her recipes in Balancing in Heels were all so much more approachable! I didn’t much that I thought “Ooo can’t want to make this”
can’t wait to try Laura Lea I don’t even know about her but just took a peek at her blog and love it!
The further I got into True Roots, the more I was like what are these ingredients?! The breakfast options all sound really good, and salads, too. Still will have to add in some of the different flours and whatnot to my pantry, but I felt they were pretty ‘normal’!
Ok Good hopefully I will be able to make a bunch!! I also don’t cook fish at home and rarely cook red meat myself so I was intimated by that part!
