I feel like I haven’t done a wellness post in for-ev-er!
I’ve been trying to keep up with my self-care moments at home. Like most things, I’ll be good for a few days and then will slack for a week or two. BUT. I’m always trying.
An update on a few things I’ve been doing regularly :
I exfoliate my face with a Clarisonic Mia or with this Pop Sonic Exfoliator (much more affordable that the Clarisonic!) Exfoliation is key to get rid of those dead skin cells and get a fresh layer of skin to clog up!
I try to face shave with the tinkle razors once every two weeks. Again, exfoliation is good. And not having a mustache is apparently good too? Lemme tell ya, in the summer sunshine….. those blonde hairs really GLISTEN.
I do my face masks on Sundays, usually the Beauty Counter Blackhead Mask.
I do dry brushing before showering – damn I’m doing a lot of exfoliating? BUT I swear the one dimple on my thigh that is the worst of all and that I hate the most IS getting better! And I am seeing a better overall improvement in my thighs and arms. I get those awful bumps on the backs of my arms and have had them since high school, and my arms are so much smoother! Still have bumps, but they feel are smaller and my arms feel smoother.
Another wellness item I have been integrating into my routine, and have talked a little bit about, is essential oils!
I had heard about them on podcasts, seen people using them on instagram, and read blog posts with people loving them, but it wasn’t until about 3 months ago that I started using them.
A few links for articles from people who know a lot more than I do :
I really just wanted to do a link to Not For Lazy Moms for all of you Real Housewives of Potomac Viewers…. so here ya go 🙂

I was gifted a doTERRA Lavender Oil and Respiratory Oil a few months ago and Kip and I loved them immediately. I’m such a bad sleeper so I’ll do anything to help my sleep. And on the nights I use lavender it definitely helps. The respiratory blend we rub between our palms and then breathe in to help with any congestion and also to just give an energy boost when needed.
also….. I am UHB-sessed with this affordable diffuser!
It’s only $39 the perfect size for a nightstand!
A sweet reader Lauren reached out to me to offer to send some Young Living oils and I was so excited! I had heard such great things about Young Living and their quality of oils. I got a Tea Tree Oil and a Lemon Oil and love both. The Tea Tree oil I use as a natural pimple cream by applying a dab to any pimples to dry them out overnight.
I love using the lemon oil to just make the house smell fresh and clean. I’m a bit of a lemon addict lately! It also works as a natural goo-gone which is pretty amazing!
I also got a sample of the Thieves cleaner. I love that it’s non-toxic and all natural and can work anywhere. I will say that the smell is very….. foresty? natural? woodsy? And not what I want my kitchen to smell like. Ya know, I’m outdoorsy in that I like drinking on the patio, but I don’t like outdoorsy smells necessarily. Sorry….. but if you do like that – it’s a great natural cleaner!
