I hope you all had a great weekend!
I realized right before I finished this post that I never posted the babies gender on the blog, only on instagram!
I posted this right after the new year:
2019. The year our lives will change forever…with two baby GIRLS arriving. I’m crying re-watching our blurry video when we found out the news before Thanksgiving; we were in complete shock to learn that despite Kip’s 100% certainty we were having two boys (he’s one of 4 boys, so is his dad!) two little ladies are entering the picture. We cut Baby A’s cake and I was sobbing and couldn’t stop laughing, and then the look on Kip’s face when we cut Baby B’s cake and saw more pink was one I’ll never forget. We’re so so excited, and still in shock (Kip especially 😍 he’s officially outnumbered 😂).
It’s barely sunk in that I am pregnant with twins let alone twin GIRLS. We’re so excited it’s going to be such a wild adventure.
Anyways….. back to my original post since I literally have NO BRAIN and have no idea what I have posted, what I haven’t, what day it is, anything. Pregnancy brain is real. I am so forgetful it’s terrifying.
I swear I’ll post about pregnancy when I finally remember to do anything……
We had some of Kip’s family in town and I also had a friends Baby Shower on Saturday! It was a great weekend overall and made even better by the 70 degree temperatures and sunshine! FINALLY.
We (and by “we” I mean Kip, not me) finished up a bunch of nursery items, so now it’s all on me to get it completed. Ruh roh. Considering I finally ordered cribs only to realize moments after they shipped that they were too wide to fit in the L shaped corner that we were putting them in….. it may be a little while!
But I can’t wait to show you the hard work he did installing board and batten and painting the whole thing!
We went to dinner Friday night at St. Cecilia, one of my favorite little spots!
Their Cacio e Pepe is insanely good and I love the decor in there.
They also had the yummiest mocktail I’ve had – I am not a mocktail lover. They usually just taste like pure sugar. This one was grapefruit based called Madame Butterfly and oh my goodness. Love. I want that thing every day!
Saturday my friend had a beautiful baby shower for her little baby girl. I’m so lucky I have a few friends who are all pregnant at the same time as me – one just had a boy, and two others are expecting a girl, one right before me and one right after!
Her shower was absolutely perfect with so many cute details – and made me realize I need to get. on. it. for my shower.
I wore a dress I’ve had for a long time from BP @ Nordstrom but that always fit a little too baggy for me, so it was the perfect dress for the bump!
I always get so many questions about these old BP Wedges and I finally came across an identical pair that comes in 15 different colors and styles!
I have definitely gotten the 2019 purge and clean bug (well….. also known as pregnancy and damn I have a lot of cleaning out to do to empty this room) and have been going to town room by room. Our nursery and guest room are finally completely cleaned out, and I am happy to report that as a hoarder, I purged A LOT.
I am now read to watch Tidying Up with Marie Kondo on Netflix, even though I will never get to that level of purging if my life depends on it. Nor do I want to. I have an unhealthy relationship with things like MY CLOSET.
*editors note : If my feet grow with this pregnancy I will cry SO damn hard.
But I HAVE purged a ton….even my old planners….. and yes….. I save my old planners……
Speaking of – my NEW planner is officially cracked open and getting color coded and loved on all over.
I used a Day Designer last year, but switched back to The Simplified Planner this year. I figure once the babies are born I won’t be writing in my planner nearly as much, because I’ll be locked in my house with no plans or things to schedule. Ohhhh I jest……do I? so I went back to the Simplified Planner. They are currently 20% off if you haven’t bought your planner yet for this year! I also have a serious notebook obsession and when we were recycling old laptops (I meannnnn so proud. Like 10 years late…….just had to bring those things to every apartment/condo/house I’ve had) at Office Depot I found these cute notebooks for $10 for both. Had to have them.
I am the queen of killing flowers and arranging them horribly. So I was pretty proud of those hydrangeas up there. I have read that a splash of vodka keeps them alive and so far so good!!!
I had kept a little bit of Christmas up even though we took the majority down last weekend, but we finally took down the final wreaths and garlands. I love hanging our Christmas cards along this garland framing the french doors! And if you’re anything like me, I love looking at Christmas cards at other peoples houses so this is the perfect way to let people take a gander!
Happy Happy Monday everyone!
I hope you have a great day and start to the week!
