I hope you all had a great weekend!
We worked on some home projects (and by we I mean Kip, clearly), walked to the farmers market, spent time by the pool at my moms with my niece and nephew, and vegged a bit!
Let’s just start with some Jeopardy talk.
It was Teen Week last week (and this week too) and I CANNOT get over how easy these questions were. Not all of them of course, but WAYYY too many. I was clearing categories left and right. I meannnn I’m a smart girl but I am SURELY not smarter than a teenager that makes it onto Jeopardy. I’m truly offended for the contestants. Unless this is just how “smart” teens are these days?!
THIS WAS A FINAL JEOPARDY QUESTION.
I was having a MELTDOWN that this was A FINAL JEOPARDY QUESTION.
Anyways….
Collins had to have more bloodwork drawn last week (because she was under 1500 grams when she was born) so they ran a full metabolic panel on her. As if it wasn’t bad enough to put her through, then the doctor called the next day at 6 PM because her numbers were…. well, not good. But they were so not good that he said something had to be wrong. So that was the good news? I was of course a little worried but he made me feel like everything he would be fine. So I had to take her to Children’s Hospital on Friday to have one of their specialists run her blood because he didn’t trust that the people at the Quest lab had done it correctly (they hadn’t spun the blood so they got a bad sample to test.) I had to wait all weekend but got a call this morning that all was of course OK thank goodness. Hopefully that’s the end of the extra pricks and pokes because of her preemie status!!!
They both were perfect angels the entire time and Hadley didn’t make a peep the entire 2+ hours we were gone.
When we’re just running errands to doctors appointments I never use my UppaBaby stroller. I use this Snap and go instead. It weighs next to nothing and is SO EASY. I love it.
You can find it in my Amazon shop!Â
Saturday morning we walked to the farmers market.
I had hoped to get breakfast sandwiches at Savi after and stock up on some more Delava Baklava but there was a big power outage from the storms the night before and no retailers on the street had power.
I shared this Baklava on instagram but haven’t shared it yet here.
OH. MY. GOODNESS.
I don’t even really care much for Baklava but this stuff is AMAZING.
They were sampling it when I went it for some lunch one day and I immediately bought 5.
I have been going back and clearing them out ever since.
They are organic and have crazy LOW sugar and I don’t know how beause they are SO DAMN GOOD.
On a less healthy but still not bad and damn DELICIOUS dessert note,
I also found this new flavor of Tate’s.
BUTTER. CRUNCH.
I cannot. They are amazing.
We got a big bag of peaches at the market and I am making a Peach Cobbler tonight. I got some cocktail and other recipe ideas from all of you on instagram (thank you!) Next weekend I’m hoping to get some more peaches and make a peach caprese salad with some balsamic glaze or a peach cocktail of some sort.
I’ll share if the cobbler turns out…. I’m kind of just making my own recipe based on a few I saw online.
Kip ALWAYS has to have a project so when he went to Lowe’s Saturday afternoon to get lightbulbs and some bins for me to store some of the babies preemie and newborn clothes (I’m not crying) he came back with a bunch of shiplap and undermount lights to put lights under our kitchen cabinets and to put a backsplash in. We have debated putting a backsplash in for awhile but I’ve always been like “whatever it’s expensive and I know if you tackle tile you’re going to destroy the kitchen for at least two weekends and the whole week in between”
Sunday when the kitchen project continued (and still continues) I took the babies to my moms to hang out with my sister and her kids poolside.
I wore on of my favorite $19 tops that I hadn’t worn since last summer. Turns out it is PERFECT for pumping. I can wear my pumping bra under it and pump and the top is loose enough that it still covers everything so I could pump easily without having to go into a different room (and have her kids find me and ask questions while I try to cover up….. like last time haha.)
// POM PRINTED TOP // runs true to sizeÂ
I wore it with some of my favorite cutoffs that don’t RIDE UP!
I size up one for these!Â
Hope you all had a great weekend!
I’m off to finish making some peach cobbler!
