Cheers to the Weekend!
After two weekends traveling to and from the beach and a bunch of Kip’s family in town for the Baptism last weekend,
I am looking forward to a LOW KEY weekend!
A few things for Friday :
:: Peloton ::
We finally pulled the trigger and got a Peloton Bike for Kip’s birthday this week!
We re-arranged some furniture in the den and it fits perfectly.
The guy was setting it up and said “in front of the window I assume?”
and I said “Oh no, sir. Angled and facing the television of course.”
I DO think I’ll be good and not watch TV usually while I spin or else I won’t get nearly as good of a workout, but every other workout I do at home I watch one of my shows while I workout.
I still need to do a post about Obè Fitness because that’s the only workout
I have done since the twins were born and I absolutely LOVE it.
But we used to spin together 3-4 times per week so it’s going to be so nice to be able to spin again.
I’ve done 2 rides so far this week and loved it so much.
(I’m starting with 30 minute rides because I am *very* out of shape cardio wise.)
The most recommended instructors have been Cody and Ally Love. I did a random person my first ride (a British girl?! Lauren?!) and a ride with Cody yesterday and loved them both!
:: Kip’s Birthday ::
Speaking of Kip’s birthday…. I did an instagram post with a few videos of him with the babies but wish I had been able to include more. The man who hated being in pictures before now basically has me taking 9,000 photos and videos of him a day so I have so many on my phone of him and the girls.
I forgot the ONE picture I couldn’t wait to include in the post from this week :
15 seconds before this happened I said “…. she is going to puke on you….”
This is Collins, the baby that “doesn’t” spit up.
She’s always the one to sneak it in and get you GOOD though.
Kip requested taco’s for his birthday dinner – the super easy, crappy kind. His favorite.
I tried using the Egg Thins as a taco shells with leftovers the next night
and as long as you use two to hold the weight they work like a charm.
(I only like the Egg Thins with Cauliflower, the ones that only have egg don’t taste as good to me and are much more flimsy)
:: Hydrangea Tips ::
We used Dollar Hydrangea for the flowers for the Twins Baptism and I was blown away by the quality for $1 a stem. Amazing. Shipped right to your door.
Some of them I haven’t even had to touch 8 days later but a couple of the arrangements starting to droop and die about 3 days in. The tips I have seen are:
Dip the stems in Alum Powder
Dunk the heads in water overnight
Trim stems and fresh water
Do a slit up the stem
Dip stem in boiling water for about 20 seconds
Add a shot of vodka to the vase
I didn’t have any access to Alum Powder (and didn’t find it at the grocery store? Need to order on Amazon) but so far I tried two different things:
1) Dunking heads in water overnight
2) trim at deep angle, slit up the stem, and fresh water
The dunking heads in water overnight DID work but it only worked for about 24 hours.
The fresh trim and slit up the stem with fresh water has worked much better (and is much easier) than the dunking of the heads.

:: Amazon Dress/Cover Up ::
I got this cover-up for our week at the beach (still need to do a post on our week in Hilton Head!) from Amazon and I love, love it. It definitely can do double duty as a dress but I need to add a snap (or just use a safety pin) at the bust because it peeks open too much there if you’re wearing it as a dress.
I also wore this strapless dress at the beach, another under $25 Amazon purchase that I love.
I loved this swimsuit that I ordered, too, but it runs slightly large and I didn’t have time to return it for a smaller size. Super flattering, stays put, good tush coverage – all the things ya need! I’d say size down one if you are between sizes.
And these sunglasses are my favorite pair recently. $10 and in love.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
We have some home projects to work on and are
hopefully getting some pumpkins and decorations for the house!
Definitely try a ride with Emma Lovewell! She is my fave!
Trim hydrangea stems and use super hot water.
Works like a charm! Congrats on your cute little
family, all the best!
Oh how I’d love a peloton bike. I am not great about going out the door to our gym is maybe having a piece of exercise equipment at home would keep me working out.
