I cannot believe the girls are ONE. YEAR. OLD.
I truly cannot believe I am typing that and that we celebrated their first birthday over the weekend.
I keep wanting to do a lengthy post about the twins first year but there are so many things to say and then I feel like I don’t even know where to start…. and it’s probably that I am too exhausted to find the words 🙂
they aged a year and I have aged 5….. yaknowwhatImean?!Â
So for today I’ll just share some pictures of their birthday brunch we had with my family on Sunday.
(It was so fun that their 1st birthday was a leap year because TECHNICALLY the extra day of February 29th they turned one yea old, so Kip and I spent an extra day on Saturday celebrating ONE YEAR and then Sunday March 1st celebrating their BIRTHDAY…. not like Hadley or Collins had any idea.)
this perfectly timed photo of Hadley’s eyes cracked me up,
first taste of sugar and getting that sugar rush!
If you need to throw an inexpensive last minute party together, this Donut Grow Up set for $15 on Amazon is all you need! I also got this $12 photo garland but that was really all we needed! (see garland in this instagram post, sorry I only have video of it!)
I found the girls dresses from Target (run large, I sized down)
I made breakfast casseroles and then had a bunch of Krispy Kreme donuts.
DONE. So easy.
I made their smash cakes but I now realize I could have just frosted a tower of cardboard because they didn’t even touch the actual cake, just the frosting! I will say that I used a Simple Mills mix but used unsweetened organic applesauce instead of vegetable oil and it turned out DELICIOUS. I am going to try baking with applesauce more often! The cake was super moist and tasted really good. I had some of the leftover cake heated up with some of my favorite ice cream (the SoDelicious peanut butter mousse) and highly recommend.
Happy birthday to the most perfect little angel face muffins on the face of the earth.
had to have one sappy line in there…….Â
