I love a reset at any time, and of course January is the most common time to do that – specifically January 1. But it’s also a major shock to the system after the long holiday season, so I usually eeeeeeease into everything in January and February 1 kicks off my greatest effort for putting into place the things I want to do more of, less of, and start or stop doing all together.
I still am not and probably never will become a morning person
but I get home around 9:30 from preschool drop off, I do my LED mask while I meditate, read a page from each of these books, and then lay down and workout for 10 or 20 minutes while I watch one of my TV shows.
I fell in love with working out when I started working out from home while watching my tv shows in my pajamas. I quickly learned that attaching it to something I love makes it stick, and that making it easy like laying out a mat on the floor and doing workouts like barre/pilates/sculpt classes in my pajamas makes it as easy as it can possibly get.
I’ve also never had to put less effort in or gotten better results than from doing something from 10-20 minutes a day because it’s so easy to be consistent while watching my favorite DVR’d show from the night before (and most importantly being able to ffwd through those pesky commercials.)
I have been doing Obé since the girls were 6 or 8 weeks old so I am almost 4 years into it coming this April. You can see an entire blog post I wrote in 2020 when I started with postpartum classes and it completely transformed my body like no spin class or 60 minute studio class ever did. Obé has a million class styles for any range of minutes from 1-15-20-30 all the way up to 45 min or an hour, but my go-to’s are their sculpt classes / barre classes / pilates classes and my MAIN thing is utilizing their 10 minute mat workouts with a set of ankle weights. My #1 most taken classes are 10 minute ab classes with a set of ankle weights to get a leg workout in there too. I know that sounds idiotically easy but it blows me away how many people havent just tried this – I’ve found some of my favorite workout instructors to keep taking other free classes from that way.

I did her workouts before our wedding on DVD while I watched TV. Each workout changed every 10 days. You can search “Metamorphosis Day 41-50” or Day 91-100 etc. I’m not linking these because sometimes they disappear but just type it into youtube!! !
her current workouts look IMPOSSIBLE but the old ones are great little sculpt classes and TONS are all on Youtube
OH and her 8 MINUTE ARMS. This video disappeared from Youtube for awhile but I found it posted somewhere else — this was the workout video that initially got me hooked when I was engaged and started her workouts; the perfect proof that what seems like not doing much is a tortuous arm workout
