If you follow along on instagram (and hopefully you do!) you know that we spent a long weekend in Sanibel, Florida visiting with Kip’s grandparents.
It was the perfect warm weather getaway! Kip has been going to Sanibel since he was a little boy to visit his grandparents so he always loves when he is able to get back. I hadn’t been in years but it was even better than I remember.
It’s an easy flight from Atlanta to Ft. Meyers and then a quick drive over to the island. Captiva Island is just past it which we also love but didn’t hop over to this time.
One thing I love about it is that there aren’t any stop lights on the whole island. It’s the perfect place to ride bikes all day (we did a tandem bike this visit – ha! I secretly loved it because I didn’t have to pay attention/steer/anything and could just stare at everything). I grew up going to our place in Hilton Head and the bike riding takes me right back to those days!
The weather was absolutely perfect and we got plenty of boat time, dinners out, lots of reading, fishing (for him – not for me).
I also found my future calling : Water Aerobics. I did water aerobics with his grandma and the ladies on Friday and decided that when down the road that is FOR SURE going to be my retirement role. I loved it. Can we make this a thing for younger people to do? I mean I already am shopping at Chico’s….. so why not add this to my list of favorites too?Â
Check out some photos – and outfits! – from the trip below. I’ll have more of what I packed to share throughout the week!
This is one of my absolutely favorite new bathing suits!
It has removable straps that you can take on and off and is such a flattering cut. Plus, the bottoms actually offer good coverage! It comes in a bunch of different patterns and colors – I am in love with the striped version.
My purse is sold out, but even BETTER is an identical purse that is 1/3 of the price of mine!
I also am loving this book – I am so close to the end, so hoping to finish it tonight!
// GINGHAM BIKINI TOP // GINGHAM BIKINI BOTTOM // SIMIALR PURSE //Â BOOK – SLIGHTLY SOUTH OF SIMPLE //
bikini runs TTS or just slightly large – I have a M in the bottoms – the top I wear my bra size but it does have some extra room so I don’t know if I am wearing the wrong size bra everyday or if I should have gone down a size!Â
I love this casual gingham dress with the flutter sleeve and tie waist.

If any of you love the look of the Marysia Swimsuits like I do,
I have found the perfect look-alike for nearly nothing!
It runs TTS and is super comfortable – and again, normal coverage on the tush for once!!!
sharing more of this on Wednesday!Â

  wearing size S in bothÂ
The Lighthouse is Kip’s favorite place for breakfast – and it is delicious. You can call ahead to put your name on the list because they are always packed.  I got their Blueberry Pancakes (which the menu said were a top 15 for best comfort food in Southern Living magazine) and oh-em-gee they were out of this world. So damn good!
I think I have found a LaCroix replacement for cocktails.
We tried this Bai Coconut for the first time this trip and it was the perfect drink for a boat day.
This romper is the perfect cover-up that you can wear to lunch or something on or off the beach/boat.
It is super lightweight and has an elastic waist so you can make it shorter or wear it a little lower on the hips

It was a perfect getaway and time spent with his grandparents!
We were so lucky we were able to make it down!
Let the dreams of beach houses where I can lead the water aerobics classes begin…..Â
